Joie De Vie Gala

Murphys, CA — Hundreds came out to help raise money for cancer patients last night.

Sonora Regional Medical Center’s Joie De Vie Gala was held at Ironstone Vineyards. The 2012 Irving J. Symons Award was given to founding administrators at Columbia College, Harvey and Patricia Rhodes. The award pays tribute to Symons, a longtime community leader who was known for his generosity.

“It was a surprise to be selected and quite a thrill,” said Mr. Rhodes, who served as Columbia College’s first President. “Irv Symons was one of my closest friends, and he was on my advisory committee when we first built the college.”

Last night marked the 12th year of the Gala. Funding from the event will benefit cancer patients at the hospital.
