Columbia, CA — Columbia College will once again offer its Community Education courses, trips, and other programs in the spring of 2013.
Columbia College Community Education officials say the courses will provide opportunities for education, enrichment, and adventure for local lifelong learners. They say the courses range from cooking to fitness boot camp and from kids’ camps to art. THey are asking for your help to decide what clases to offer.
Community Education Department Director Sandy Cardoza says, “We’re seeking input from the community as to what they want. What is it the community would like here on campus that they would receive information and knowledge from, so we are putting out the feelers trying to get the community involved.”
The college is accepting resident’s course proposals for spring of 2013 now. Cardoza also says any one can be an instructor of a class. All you need to do is fill out and return the course proposal form. She says they will start reviewing proposals October 29, 2012. Click here for the form and more information.
Community Education gets no funding from the College’s general fund. All its funds come from registration fees.
Cardoza says the program plans to host a wide variety of one-day excursions throughout the year as well, including trips to sporting events, theatre shows, cultural functions, educational venues, and recreational activities.
Community Education spring classes will begin in February and run through May.
