Power Outages In Tuolumne County

PG & E reports 3 power outages are affecting over 900 customers in Tuolumne County in Sonora and the Columbia area.

PG&E says they are asssessing the situation and do not have a cause at this time. They say crews are working on the problem.


Also, there is no word on a repair time, but some of those residents have been without electricity for more than an hour.


Update 8:35 a.m.: PG & E now reports a total of 4 power outages are affecting over 2600 customers in Tuolumne County in Sonora and the Columbia area. PG & E says crews are assessing the situation and do not have a cause at this time. Also, there is no word on a repair time, but some of those residents have been without electricity for nearly two hours.


Update 9:45 a.m.: PG & E reports power has been restored to 1600 residents in Tuolumne County. Those customers were in the Groveland area and were without power for over 20 minutes this morning. PG &E says that outage was weather related. 


They report two power outages are still affecting 600 customers in Sonora and the Columbia areas. They say those outages are also weather related. There is no word on a repair time, but some of those residents have been without electricity for nearly three hours.


Update 11 a.m.: PG & E now reports 837 customers are without power in Sonora and the Columbia. 


Update 1:45 p.m.: PG & E reports power has been restored to over 835 customers, but 3 homes in Columbia are still without power.  Three power outages in the Sonora and Columbia areas left nearly 850 residents without power for nearly 8 hours. PG & E Spokesperson Brandi Ehlers says, “We estimate the repair time for the last three homes to be around 8 p.m. There was an issue at the Blue Mountain Mineral Station that caused some of our underground cables to fail so that is to blame for some of the outages.”
