Marijuana Plants In Calaveras County

Mokelumne Hill, CA — 5,100 marijuana plants were destroyed in Calaveras County.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that the marijuana was recently located along steep terrain near Mokelumne Hill. At least one person was seen fleeing from the area when the officials first arrived on scene. The Sheriff’s Office says it appears that people were living near the grow site, and evidence indicates that the subjects were armed. Officials also found garbage, chemicals and irrigation infrastructure.

The Calaveras Narcotics Team worked in cooperation with the Bureau of Land Management and the newly formed CERT (Cannabis Eradication and Reclamation Team). No arrests have been made in connection to the eradication.
