Update: Solo-Vehicle Crash On HWY 49

Update at 2 p.m.: The CHP has reported the possibility that the road would be closed for a short time to recover the vehicle, but instead officers directed one-way traffic and tow crews were able to remove the truck without shutting down the highway. Traffic is moving freely once again. The CHP reports no injuries in the wreck. Further details on the crash are below.

Update at 1:30 p.m.: The CHP reports the road will be closed for a short time to recover the vehicle and that currently officers are directing one-way traffic, which is getting backed up.

Original post at 1 p.m.: Mokelumne Hill, CA — Emergency responders are on the scene of a solo-vehicle crash on Highway 49 at the Dell Orto Road and Center Street intersection in the Mokelumne Hill area of Calaveras County. The CHP reports that a large flatbed commercial truck has gone off the roadway and down an embankment. Tow trucks are headed to the scene and the CHP relays that the roadway may temporarily close to recover the truck. We will update you when that happens.
