Graham Fire Near Containment

Groveland, CA — The Graham Fire in Groveland is now 85 percent contained.


CAL FIRE has reduced the size estimate, and now places it at 81 acres. The cause of the fire is listed as “equipment use,” but no further information is immediately available. The firefighters have had to climb heavy terrain, and six injuries have been reported thus far.


No homes have been damaged, but the nearby Indian Creek Trail remains closed until the fire is fully extinguished. Cooperating agencies on scene include the Forest Service, CDCR, PG&E, Groveland Community Services District, Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office and Tuolumne County Fire.


Meanwhile, the Penn Fire in Murphys is now 100 percent contained. Crews are continuing to patrol the area. The final acreage burned is 134.
