Murphys, CA — CAL Fire is on the scene of a house fire turned vegetation fire in Murphy’s near Skunk Ranch Road and Pennsylvania Gulch Road. CAL Fire says several acres are on fire, but no word on what started the blaze or it’s rate of spread. They say they have several engines and spotter planes in the air.
Dale Hines is doing construction on a house in the area and is an eyewitness to the blaze. He says “I see 50 foot flames shooting into the air. The fire is spreading toward about 10 houses in the area.”
No word from CAL Fire on whether those houses are in danger.

Update 5:30pm: CAL Fire says the fire is 50 acres and there is no containment.
