Update: Sierra Nevada Winter Storm Warning Issued

The Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for the Sierra Nevada above 5,000 feet through 6 AM Friday.

According to the National Weather Serviced, additional snow accumulations of twelve to twenty-five inches is expected above the 6,000 foot elevation.

Winds will continue to gust up to forty mph.

Thunderstorms are also possible, along with the heavy snowfall and gusty winds.

Once this storm exits the region late Friday morning, another system is forecast to impact the mountains over the weekend.

A Winter Storm Warning means there will be snow covered roads and limited visibilities. Travel is not recommended while the Warning is in effect. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
