Mele And Kuntz Voice Concerns

Sonora, CA — Local Sheriff’s will talk about the potential impacts of reducing public safety services.

Tuolumne County Sheriff Jim Mele and Calaveras County Sheriff Gary Kuntz will be the guests on Mother Lode Views this weekend. Both Sheriffs have been very vocal at recent Supervisors meetings, giving their opinions on why they feel additional deputies are needed in the Mother Lode.

Both Sheriff’s will also give an update on the AB 109 prisoner realignment transition. Tuolumne County already has a new day-use reporting center open, led by the Probation Department, while Calaveras County is still hashing out many of the initial details. Sheriff Kuntz has notably been an outspoken critic of the state’s AB 109 program.
