T.U.D. Warns Of Traffic Delays

A T.U.D. water line will be extended on Sawmill Flat Road, and it could lead to some minor traffic delays on Parrotts Ferry Road this week.

T.U.D. says flaggers will be directing traffic this Tuesday through Thursday at the intersection of Parrotts Ferry Road and Sawmill Flat. The project itself will take around 4-6 weeks to complete. Funding is coming from a state grant (Proposition 50), and Moyle Excavation of Jamestown was awarded a $200K contract to assist.

The project will extend an 8-inch and 10-inch water main along Sawmill Flat Road from Parrotts Ferry Road to Rambler Road. It also includes the installation of fire hydrants along Sawmill Flat.

Several years ago the Sawmill Flat Water Users Association approached T.U.D. about providing treated water service for their homes. Currently the closest District water main is approximately 1,700 lineal feet from the Association’s boundary.
