Sonora, CA — Nearly 130 registered donors gave blood today. The event ran from 10am to 6pm with plenty of food, music and fun to entertain those waiting in line to give blood.
1450 KVML, Star 92.7, 93.5 KKBN and myMotherLode.com once again joined forces with the Blood Bank of Sonora to put on the community blood drive.
The Delta Blood Bank provides blood to 15 community hospitals and serves five counties. The Blood Bank reports that about 60 percent of the U.S. population is eligible to donate blood, but only five percent do. One out of every 10 hospitalized patients needs blood.
