Calaveras Budget Vote

Sonora, CA — On Tuesday the Calaveras County Supervisors will vote on the budget for the next fiscal year.

Total spending is projected to be $139 million. Five positions could be eliminated as part of the budget, including an Administrative Analyst, two Associate Engineers, and two road maintenance workers.

The Supervisors will also discuss a new agreement with Lake Tulloch Resort regarding law enforcement at special events. Law enforcement has been stretched thin responding to some of the resorts concerts and attractions over recent years. The agreement requires that two deputies are hired for special events, and all costs are covered by the resort.

In addition, the Board will take time to honor Angels Camp for its 100 years of incorporation. Tuesday’s meeting begins at 9am at the Government Center in San Andreas.
