A Crash Brings Down Power Lines in Tuolumne County

Tuolumne County, CA – A single vehicle collided with a power pole on Woodham Carne road and Yosemite Road.

CHP reports the car fled the scene but may have been seen in downtown Tuolumne. They have blocked off roads in the area as the power lines are across the street.

PG & E is responding to the scene. Fire trucks initially responded because the possibility of vegetation catching fire. The trucks were later recalled, no fire was reported from the incident.

CHP is asking motorist to stay clear of the area as the live wires are very dangerous. For a street view of the intersection view the Google map here.

Update: The roadways are closed as PG & E is working to repair the lines at this hour. CHP says it will take a couple of hours until they can clear and open the roadway.
