An Alert For Calaveras County Residents

Calaveras County, CA —  Several area sheriff’s swat teams are having a training day. Calaveras, Tuolumne and Amador Counties will be running those mock scenarios in 3 different areas.

In the morning, they will be in the Arnold/Avery area at a building just off highway 4. There teams will be setting off explosives to practice their response. Sheriff’s officials say it will sound like a shot gun blast. That training will end around 9am.

Then the teams will head to Angels Camp and Copperopolis. There residents will see armored vehicles and about 3 dozen uniformed swat team personnel performing a multi-agency mock training. That will last until 6pm.

Sheriff’s officials are asking residents to stay clear of the areas for their own safety.
