Highway 26 Fire Almost Out

Cal Fire says the highway 26 fire will be 75% contained by 6pm tonight.

37 acres of grass and brush went up near the Paloma Road intersection yesterday.


Five engines, four hand crews and two water tenders are working to fully extinguish the blaze.


No homes are considered in danger. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.


Highway 26 is open to traffic.


Update: Fire is now 75% contained. No word from Cal Fire on when it will be fully contained.
