Fire Near Highway 26

Valley Springs, CA — A vegetation fire started last night near Highway 26 and Paloma Road in Calaveras County.


This morning CAL Fire reports that it is estimated to be 36 acres in size, and crews remain on scene. No homes are considered at risk, and the cause is under investigation. Highway 26 remains open to motorists.


CAL Fire engines from across the region reported last night, including San Andreas, Valley Springs, Murphys, Copperopolis, Arnold, Vallecito and others.
