Fair CEO Laurie Giannini expects around 40,000 visitors at the fairgrounds this weekend. Today’s highlights include the Saddle Queen competition and Miss Calaveras Scholarship Pageant.

The saddle queen contestants are Cassidy Davis, Natalie Harp, Krista Maisch, Rachelle Snitchler and Kimber Truelock. Up for Miss Calaveras are Alexis Anderson, Christina Bernal, Brittany Cox, McKenzie Garcia, Allyson Guthrie, Taylor Mossa and Amanda French.

Events will continue through the weekend, and culminate on Sunday with the International Frog Jump and Destruction Derby.
