New Assistant Superintendent Of Schools

Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools Office announces new Assistant Superintendent of Business Services Tami Ethier.


Joe Silva, Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools, says Ethier worked at the County Schools Office as an Accounting Specialist in 2007. From 2009 until last month she was the Chief Business Official at Columbia Elementary.


Silva says, “It’s great to have Tami back at the County Schools Office. She is extremely knowledgeable, and her upbeat personality is a perfect fit for our office. We are very fortunate to have her.”


Ethier was quoted as saying, her time working at a school district is invaluable in her new position providing direction and guidance to the 12 school districts. Her goal is to provide all of the districts in Tuolumne County with excellent customer service, backed by a thorough knowledge and understanding of school finance.


Ethier holds a bachelor’s in accounting from Morrison University in Reno. In 2009, she earned her School Business Management Certificate from the University of Southern California. Since earning her certificate, Ethier has retained strong ties with the USC program as an instructor teaching classes to new participants in the program. In addition, she also holds a Certified Chief Business Official Certificate issued by the California Association of School Business Officials.


The Assistant Superintendent, Business Services is responsible for the budgets at the County Schools Office, as well as for providing fiscal oversight and direction to the 12 districts in Tuolumne County.
