Gunshot Victim Identified

Valley Springs, CA — The victim in yesterday’s Valley Springs shooting has been identified. The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office reports that 52-year-old Richard Silveria was allegedly shot in the lower torso by his roommate, 49-year-old Adam Hagerman.

Sgt. Chris Hewitt of the C.C. Sheriff’s Office says that an investigation is ongoing, as detectives have not been able to interview either of the men up to this point. “It is unclear what the two men had been fighting over,” adds Hewitt.

The two shared a house in the 3800 block of Bartelink Road, where the fight happened at around 2:50pm. Hagerman was booked into Calaveras County Jail on a charge of attempted murder. Silveria was admitted to a hospital in Modesto to treat injuries. His condition is not immediately known.
