More Sierra Snow This Saturday

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Sierra Nevada from late Friday night through late Saturday night.


Snow accumulations are expected to begin around 4000 feet. Five inches to two feet of snow could fall above 5000 feet.


Winds of twenty-five to forty-five mph are likely, with gusts reaching up to seventy mph over the higher elevations.


Rainfall amounts of a quarter to three quarters on an inch are likely in the Mother Lode.
