Mother Lode Winter Storm Watch & Sierra Warning

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Mother Lode from Tuesday evening through Wednesday afternoon.


Additionally, a Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the Sierra Nevada from Tuesday 10 PM through Wednesday 10 PM.


Four to eight inches of snow accumulation is expected above 2000 feet. Half a foot to a foot of snow is likely above 3000 feet. One to three feet of snow is possible above 6500 feet.


In the Mother Lode, winds of twenty to thirty-five mph should be expected.


In the Sierra, winds of fifteen to thirty mph are likely. Gusts up to fifty mph are possible over the highest ridges.
