High Wind Watch Issued For The Sierra Nevada

Breezy winds, rain and mountain snow will return to northern California overnight tonight and Wednesday morning.

Snow levels may even lower into the Mother Lode, however, only a light dusting is expected.

Up to half a foot of snow accumulation is possible in the highest elevations.

Additionally, the National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Watch for the Sierra Nevada from Wednesday night through Thursday morning.

Steady winds of twenty-five to forty mph are expected with gusts ranging from forty-five to sixty mph.

Impacts could include downed trees, power outages and travel disruptions.

A High Wind Watch means there is a potential for a hazardous high wind event with potential gusts of fifty-eight mph or stronger.
