Calaveras Man Injured In Tractor Accident

Valley Springs, CA — The CHP reports that a Calaveras County man was seriously injured in a weekend tractor accident.

20-year-old Chris Broderick of Valley Springs was riding on the right rear area of the tractor, in a position not intended for passengers. For unknown reasons he fell down and became pinned between the right rear 5′ tall tire and the body of the tractor. Broderick was rescued by emergency crews and flown to Kaiser South in Sacramento. He remains in the hospital’s intensive care unit this morning.

The CHP reports that the piece of equipment is a CAT 950 G. The driver of the tractor was 20-year-old Devin White, also of Valley Springs. White told officers that he had been drinking prior to the accident, but a toxicology test found that he was not driving under the influence. Therefore he was not arrested.

The accident happened just after midnight on Saturday.
