TUD And TCSD Talks Continue

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne Utilities District and the Tuolumne City Sanitary District have been working together for almost a year to create a dissolution agreement to turn all TCSD assets over to TUD.

This includes all contracts, debts and the TCSD wastewater plant.

“The process does take time and we want to make sure that we have been very diligent by looking at all financial obligations that TCSD may have,” says TUD General Manager Pete Kampa. “We are also thinking about our own customers and want to make sure that they are not faced with any burdens with the dissolution of TCSD by us taking over their operations.”

Until a dissolution agreement is finalized, TUD will be working with TCSD to oversee its operations, review permits and agreements so that they stay in compliance with state permits. “The safety of the community is always a concern,” adds Kampa.

Kampa notes that the dissolution agreement is still months away from being completed. TCSD serves about 900 customers, including the operations of Black Oak Casino.
