New CCWD Headquarters

San Andreas, CA — The new Calaveras County Water District Building is finished. The new headquarters are on 3.4 acres of property in San Andreas. General Manager Mitchell Dion says, “Local contractors delivered the project on time and on budget.” Dion says they are moving personnel and equipment over to the new location. He noted that today’s public hearing about the rate increase was scheduled to be held at the old building in case the new one was not available and also to avoid possible equipment issues at the new facility.

The building cost $3.1 million and is 14,000 square feet at 267 George Reed Drive. The new building fulfills American Disability Act (ADA) requirements and meets fire regulations that the old building did not. Dion says that the loan was an inner district transfer loan with low interest and they will be selling off other district facilities to offset the cost.
