One Worker Killed At Camp Tawonga: Four Injured

The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office has identified a Camp Tawonga worker that was tragically killed by a falling oak tree. It is a story we have been following throughout the day.

Sgt. James Oliver says she is 21-year-old Annais Rittenberg of the Bay Area. She was reportedly a UC Santa Cruz student. Two others are in serious but stable condition at a Modesto hospital. They are identified as Lizzie Moore and Cara Sheedy. Two were taken to Sonora Regional Medical Center to treat minor injuries, and they have since been released. They are Juliet Ulibarri and Anya Schultz.

No children were hurt when the oak tree fell near a dining hall at 8:25am. Camp Tawonga is a Jewish faith based camp located along Mather Road near Yosemite National Park. Officials had difficulty removing the tree as it also came in contact with powerlines.
