Two New Planning Commissioners

Sonora, CA — The seven Tuolumne County Planning Commission seats were filled this morning, and there are two newcomers.

Former County Supervisor Dick Pland was appointed to one of the at-large seats, and former T.U.D. member Ron Ringen was appointed to the District Two seat.

All seven seats were opened up as part of the restructuring process related to the elimination of several local planning commissions and design review committees. Five members were reappointed to their seats. They include Jim Garaventa in District One, John Latorre in District Three, Jerry Baker in District Four, Robert Steele in District Five and Jerry Morrow to the other at-large seat.

All of the appointments were approved with a unanimous 5-0 vote. Ringen will take the seat of Isaac Kight, who recently resigned when he moved to Oklahoma. Pland will take the seat of Commissioner Patrick Stone, who was not re-appointed.
