Going Out Of Business Sales

Sonora, CA — Eight Orchard Supply Hardware stores will shut down in California and dozens more could close their doors. Today the retailer is holding a “going out of business sale” at eight stores in the state after a federal bankruptcy court judge in Delaware approved of the sales Friday.

Sonora’s store is not having a sale, but OSH officials say another 22 could be on the chopping block. There is no word if the Sonora store is on that list.

The Mercury News reports the stores that are closing are in; Newark, Vacaville, Antioch, Fairfield, Citrus Heights in Sacramento County, Huntington Beach, Long Beach, and Orchard’s “Midtown” store in Los Angeles.

Lowe’s Incorporated reached an agreement earlier this month to purchase Orchard Supply Hardware for $205 million cash, and Lowe’s will assume payables owed to nearly all of OSH’s supplier partners.
