T.U.D. Calls Special Meeting

Sonora, CA — The T.U.D. Board of Directors is taking steps to find a replacement for Jim Grinnell, who over the weekend announced his resignation.

The Board of Directors has scheduled a special meeting for June 18th at 2pm to discuss the opening, and select a way to fill the seat. As reported previously, Grinnell has stated that he would have trouble making it to meetings due to an ankle injury and felt it would be too difficult to continue to carry out district business. Grinnell was elected to the seat in November.

His resignation letter sent to fellow board members and district officials reads as follows: “For various reasons, including not being physically functional for about the next two months-critical TUD months-I am resigning forthwith as a board member. If possible, I would like to personally pay all the insurances to have them continue. I think I can continue to serve the community in other capacities.”

The resignation was effective immediately.
