Mountain Springs To Become Teleli Golf Club

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians has finalized the purchase of the Mountain Springs Golf Course.

While an opening date has not yet been determined, it will eventually reopen under the name “Teleli Golf Club,” which means “Black Oak” in the Tribe’s Me-Wuk language.

In addition, an agreement has been signed with Sierra Golf Management to help operate the course and assist the Tribe in making it a premier golf course in the Sierra foothills.

The Tribe adds that its economic development arm, the Tuolumne Economic Development Authority, Inc., is committed to investing the resources needed to make the golf club a significant addition to the resort amenities, and a course the county can be proud of.

Information regarding an opening date and timeline is expected to be released soon.

The Mountain Springs Golf Course closed on December 31st ahead of the sale. The 18-hole course was designed by famed architect Robert Muir Graves and opened in 1990.
