West Point, CA — There is a structure fire in Calaveras County. Cal Fire is responding to Sawyer Road and Highway 26 near West Point. Columbia has also sent out a plane to the blaze. We will bring you more information as soon as it becomes available.

Update 2:10pm: Cal Fire reports half and acre to an acre is on fire. Crews report the structure is fully engulfed, but they believe the structure is an abandoned structure.
Update 2:15pm: Cal Fire reports the Columbia plane has been diverted to a vegetation blaze in Copperopolis.
Update 2:30pm: Cal Fire says structure fire is actually on Sourdough Lane near Sawyer and Highway 26. Vegetation is also on fire.
Update 2:45pm: Cal Fire reports the fire is contained at nearly 1 1/2 acres. They say the structure was destroyed and a nearby vehicle also caught on fire.
