Leila Fowler Investigation Update

Valley Springs, CA — Calaveras County Sheriff’s Officials report that they have revisited hundreds of homes in the Rancho Calaveras Subdivision over the past few days.

Dive recovery teams from Calaveras and Stanislaus Counties will continue to search through a nearby pond today for evidence. The Sheriff’s Office has started to receive analysis on evidence sent to the DOJ crime lab, and officials say they continue to make progress in narrowing the scope in the investigation. Some special dogs were sent in yesterday from Washington, DC to help search for clues, thanks to the FBI. They will be searching for possible trails of blood.

There is still not a suspect. The Sheriff’s Office remains optimistic that they will find the culprit.
