Job Is Queen

Sonora, CA — The Mother Lode Roundup has a new Queen.

Lorna Job received the crown at the coronation ceremony Sunday night at the Sonora Opera Hall. “It is definitely an honor, and I’m so proud to represent this county,” she says. “You grow up in this county as a young girl, and you look up to the Mother Lode Roundup Queens. It is an honor to be filling the shoes of those role models that I had as a child.”

Ashley Taylor was first runner-up, and Kimberly Perez was second runner-up. Job took first prize in the speech and appearance categories, Taylor for horsemanship, high ticket sales and congeniality, and Perez for being photogenic.

Last night’s ceremony kicks off a busy week for the 17-year-old Connections Academy student. To view a list of Mother Lode Roundup Activities, click here.
