Call For Additional 911 Scholarships

Sacramento, CA — In the wake of several financial scandals in California, some want to take another look at the 9 -11 Memorial Scholarship Program. The Associated Press reports three California lawmakers are proposing legislation to reopen a memorial scholarship program for relatives of Californians killed in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Senator Ted Gaines introduced the measure today to reinstate the 9 -11 Memorial Scholarship Program, after an investigation by The AP lead to a review by the state auditor. The auditor found the program was poorly administered.
