Possible Long Traffic Delays

Sonora, CA — Motorists could see some lengthy delays in downtown Sonora starting on Thursday morning due to Broadband infrastructure installation. Crews will be asphalt paving on West School Street to Snell Street to Green Street. Also they will be working on Green Street between Bradford and Jackson Streets. The paving will continue on Shepherd and Lyons Streets to Bradford and Stewart Streets.

There will be some long delays up to 15 to 25 minutes and even road closures in some areas. Construction Officials urge motorists to avoid the area and take an alternative route whenever possible.

The work is part of the Central Valley Independent Next (CVIN) Broadband infrastructure installation.
The 18-county CVIN project was funded by the federal stimulus package in 2009. It is designed to increase the broadband infrastructure of the region.
