Just In Time For Fishing

Sonora, CA — Caltrans has opened Highway 108 Sonora Pass. It opened just after noon today. Nearly two weeks ago Caltrans announced the roadway had been opened to Kennedy Meadows.

Now, Caltrans Spokesperson Angela DaPrato says the light winter helped crews clear debris away quickly making the early opening possible, just in time for trout fishing season which starts April 27th.

DaPrato says, “Our goal is to have all the passes open by Memorial Weekend. It looks good for that right now as we could open Highway 4 Ebbetts Pass later this week or next week.”
