Gearing Up For Relay For Life

Sonora, CA — Residents across the Mother Lode will soon come together to help raise money to fight cancer.

Annual Relay for Life events will be taking place in the coming weeks in both Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties.

Tuolumne County Chair Andee Houser says, “We have 42 teams signed up right now, with about 500 participants. We’re hoping to have around 1,000 out there.”

Organizers say it always proves to be an emotional and uplifting event where cancer survivors are honored, and those who have lost the battle are remembered. People can still sign up for the relay activities.

Tuolumne County’s Relay for Life will begin the morning on May 4th at Sonora High School. For more information, click here. Calaveras County’s event is set to begin April 27th at Bret Harte High School. Click here for more information.
