Calaveras Patrol Vehicle Accident

Copperopolis, CA — The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office confirms that one of its patrol vehicles was recently involved in a rollover accident.

Little information has been released, but it happened on Sunday evening at around 6:30. “A deputy who was responding to a call for service was involved in a single vehicle accident on Little John Road in Copperopolis,” says Sgt. Chris Hewitt. “The deputy did receive minor injuries during the crash. The patrol car is a 2006 Ford Expedition, and the vehicle did suffer major damage.”

The Sheriff’s Department says the name of the deputy is not being released because they are still conducting an internal investigation. The deputy was responding to a report of a domestic dispute. It was “code three,” which is considered an emergency situation.
