Wet Easter Weekend

According to the National Weather Service, wet weather is expected in the Mother Lode this Easter weekend into Monday.

Half an inch to an inch of rain is expected in the Mother Lode.

The snow level will begin in the Sierra Nevada around 7000 feet. Two to five inches of snow accumulation is likely above 8000 feet.

Thunderstorms will be a possibility over the entire region through early Sunday evening.

In addition to dangerous cloud to ground lightning, thunderstorms can bring brief heavy rain, gusty winds and small hail.

Light showers may linger into early next week.
