Miles Of Meals

Sonora, CA — Meal on Wheels has been given a gift worth miles of food. The program has been given a free SUV for a year. The new 2013 Subaru Forester will be used on delivery routes taking food to those who can’t get out.

Sierra Senior Providers CEO Mike Ruggles says, “We’re going to be using it on all of our routes. I think that over the course of one week going to various routes, it will feed over a hundred people.”

The agency started using the SUV this weekend. Ruggles says it is a perfect vehicle to get to more remote homebound seniors who get Meal delivered. The SUV has been donated to the agency for a year at no costs from Sonora Subaru. Ruggles says, “It’s a win, win, win for everyone.”
