Three Hurt In Tuolumne Road Crash

Tuolumne, CA — There was a crash last night on Tuolumne Road near the Cherokee Road intersection.

The CHP reports that 62-year-old Cheryl Baker of Tuolumne was driving eastbound on Tuolumne Road and attempted to turn onto Cherokee Road. Her 2003 Honda went directly into the path of an oncoming 1988 Mazda driven by 16-year-old Jackson Trent of Sonora. The vehicles collided, and both ricocheted off a 1988 Toyota pickup truck driven by Nathan Reece of Sonora, which was stopped at the Cherokee Road intersection.

The CHP says Baker was airlifted to a hospital in Modesto to treat major injuries. She has also been cited for driving under the influence. Trent and a passenger, 16-year-old Benjamin Trent, were transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center to treat reported minor to moderate injuries. Reece was not injured.

The accident happened at around 8:40pm. There was a notable amount of traffic in the area due to the Summerville High School boys basketball game.
