A Motorcycle Theft Leads To Drug Bust

Valley Springs, CA — A warrant to search a Valley Springs Man’s property for stolen motorcycles also nets drugs. Calaveras Sheriff’s deputies and CHP served the warrant at a home in the 8000 block of Westhill Road in Valley Springs last Friday. During the search deputies got more than they bargained for and found 13.3 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 17.2 grams of marijuana, and 5.1 grams of concentrated cannabis.

Deputies arrested Jacob Ryan Butler (27) of Valley Springs and Shannon Kay Clougherty (25) of Valley Springs. Sheriff’s Officials say Clougherty’s three year old child was also at the house.

Butler was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana for Sale, Vehicle Theft, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, and Child Endangerment. Also, Sheriff’s Officials say they plan on filing a Child Endangerment complaint against the child’s Mother, Clougherty with the District Attorney’s Office.
