Passport Day Celebration

San Andreas, CA — The Clerk-Recorder’s Office of Calaveras County is joining the Department of State in celebrating Passport Day in the USA 2013. The office will be open 10:00am to 3:00pm on Saturday, March 9th to accept passport applications from anyone. Usually the office at 891 Mountain Ranch Road in San Andreas is open Monday through Friday 8:00am to 12:00pm by appointment. On Saturday the Eastside door of the Administration Building, near the Sheriff’s office, will be open.

U.S. Citizens must present a valid passport book when entering or re-entering the United States by air. U.S. citizens entering the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda must present a passport book, passport card, or other travel documents approved by the U.S. Government.

Tuolumne County will be open its usual hours to process passports Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm at 2 South Green St.

Information on the cost and how to apply for a U.S. passport are available at www.travel.state.gov In general passports are $85 and $55 for renewal. Passports are valid for 10 years for 17 and older and 5 years for 16 and under. If it has been less than 15 years from the date of issue a passport can be renewed with out going into the clerks office.
