Emergency Overload

Sonora, CA – Sonora Regional Medical Center says its emergency rooms are overflowing with patients and not all of them need to be there. It’s the cold and flu season and Hospital Officials say they are being flooded with patients. To relieve the congestion, they are urging the public to go to one of the three area Prompt Care facilities if they have respiratory illness or influenza-like symptoms.

“We have seen an influx of patients into the Emergency Department and in-patient units over the past month,” said Julie Kline, Chief Nursing Officer. “We are currently near our capacity in the hospital. Using the Prompt Care Clinics to treat respiratory illness or potential influenza-like symptoms would help relieve the pressure at the hospital.”

Below are the three Prompt Cares locations and hours:

Indian Rock Prompt Care, 1450 Mono Way, Sonora 209-532-3167, (open 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

Forest Road Prompt Care, 193 South Fairview Lane, Sonora 209-536-5130, (open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., closed Sunday)

Angels Camp Prompt Care, 23 North Main Street, Angels Camp 209-736-9130, (open 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
