Forum Will Look At Senior Issues

Sonora, CA — A forum in Tuolumne County will address challenges seniors face when it comes to finding housing and transportation.

It is being put on by the Board of Supervisors Housing Policy Committee. It is designed to be an informational forum. The county is also seeking input on the needs of seniors in the community, when it comes to finding an affordable place to live, transportation needs, and other services.

Speakers at the forum will include Mike Ruggles of Sierra Senior Providers, Cathie Peacock of Interfaith, local realtor Kathie Burby, Doreen Schmidt of the Area 12 Agency on Aging, Kathi Toepel of Catholic Charities, T.U.D. Board member Jim Grinnell, and TCTC Transportation Planner Tyler Summersett.

The Senior Housing Forum will be Wednesday, February 20th, from 2-4pm in the Board of Supervisors meeting room, at 2 S. Green Street in Sonora. It is open to the public.
