Power Outages And Slick Roads On Presidents Day

Sonora, CA — It is Presidents Day, so schools, banks and most government offices are closed today.

If you must be out on the roads, drive with extra caution this morning as it is very slick in many areas. PG&E reports that there are still about 20 separate power outages to restore in the Twain Harte area, impacting over 700 customers. There are also about 20 customers without power in the Railroad Flat area of Calaveras County, and a handful without electricity near Arnold. PG&E hopes to have most of the customers restored by the two o’clock hour this afternoon.

There are still closures this morning due to flooding in Tuolumne County along Bell Mooney Road, Sims Road and Red Hills Road. It is not immediately clear when those roads will reopen. A stretch of Highway 26 in Calaveras County also remains closed.
