Update: Red Flag Warning For Stanislaus National Forest

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the Stanislaus National Forest, which remains in effect until 11 AM this morning.

Northeast to east winds of ten to twenty mph will continue with some gusts ranging from thirty to thirty-five mph. The winds are strongest over the ridges and through favorably oriented canyons.

Widespread poor overnight humidity recoveries are as low as twenty-five to thirty-five percent.

Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning in the Stanislaus National Forest is not recommended.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
