Update at 11:15am: Traffic is again moving freely on Highway 49.
Update at 10:40am: Traffic remains backed up in both directions along Highway 49 near Rawhide Road. A crew is working to repair a damaged pole that was hit by a Corvette. No injuries were reported in the accident. Only one traffic lane is currently open.
Original story at 9:23am: Sonora, CA — Travel with caution and be prepared for a traffic delay on Highway 49 between Rawhide Road and Tuttletown. The CHP reports that vehicle has slammed into a pole and lines are hanging over the road. It is blocking at least one traffic lane. You will want to avoid the area if possible.
