Avoid Buchanan Road If Possible

Tuolumne County’s Road Division is advising everyone to proceed with extreme caution if you must travel on Buchanan Road, and avoid the area if possible.

Tuolumne County Community Resources Agency Engineering Manager Tanya Allen reports that a portion of the hillside on Buchanan Road, 1.7 miles from Carter Street, recently slid onto the road. Officials are analyzing the incident and looking into ways to ensure the road’s stability. If possible, use of Buchanan Road should avoided until further notice.
