Update: Units Responding To New Priest Grade Accident

Update at 2:20pm: Lanes are back open following an accident that was backing up traffic on Highway 120 New Priest Grade and also along Old Priest Grade, according to CHP Sonora Unit officials.

Update at 1:50pm: Expect slow traffic for awhile at the top of Highway 120/New Priest Grade.

A motorcycle versus car crash early in the 1 p.m. hour generated backups on the highway as well as Old Priest Grade and the top of the grade was temporarily shut down for a brief time. However, traffic is getting by now as accident cleanup continues. No further details about the crash are yet available.

Original Post at 1:29pm: Sonora, CA — A head-on motorcycle versus a car crash with injuries has blocked at least part of Highway 120 New Priest Grade.

According to CHP Sonora Unit officials, the incident location is  just east of the top of the grade near the Priest Station Café. Units still responding include at least one ambulance. We will provide more details when they become available. In the meantime travelers should avoid the area if possible.
